Today is episode 173: Be Still
Hi friends. In this perfect spring season where everything is coming up and blooming and gorgeous, I think the blooms themselves are a testimony to God and so, I don’t have a long episode for you today, but I do have a poem from Mary Oliver that I’d love to read for you. It might help us frame our spring and how we can receive from God instead of always doing. The poem is called “Praying,” by Mary Oliver, and I hope it will help you to notice the incredible work God is doing in and around us, to let Him speak into it, and then to find a small way to express our thanks.
“Praying,” by Mary Oliver
It doesn’t have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just
pay attention, then patch
a few words together and don’t try
to make them elaborate, this isn’t
a contest but the doorway
into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.
